Hunting in the Spreewald

Here in our restaurant "Hirschwinkel" an ancient custom comes alive: the hunting. Argus-eyed our "Hubertus" is watching over the welfare of our guests and reveals fascinating stories from old times when the extensive lowland forest with it's wickerwork of water channels around the historical Spreewald village "Lehde" was a true paradise for game.

In 1650 the last bear, in 1746 the last elk and 1844 the last wolf was shoot in the Spreewald. But even today the Spreewald is full of red deer, roe and wild boar. That's why our menu is representing a huge variety of game like venison or wild boar. Our game specialities are made by fresh meat supplied by local hunters.
